Identità, alterità, narrazione. Un approccio psicodinamico
Abstract
Riassunto: L’articolo esamina l’ontogenesi dell’identità personale, intesa come senso di sé sorretto da una teoria di sé, in cinque tappe: il “Sé nucleare”, l’autoriconoscimento di fronte allo specchio, l’uso del pronome “io”, l’alternanza dei pronomi io e tu nel dialogo, la capacità del bambino di connettere il proprio senso di sé corporeo e psichico con la propria immagine e di esprimere tale connessione con la frase “quello sono io”. Si evidenzia anche l’importanza della relazione interpersonale nella costruzione dell’identità attraverso il rispecchiamento, la mentalizzazione e il riconoscimento reciproco. L’identità è concepita come un sistema complesso articolato su un “polo sé” riferito alla dinamiche psichiche introiettive e su un “polo io-altro” riferito alle dinamiche proiettive. Infine si analizza il modo in cui il pensiero narrativo e il pensiero paradigmatico (entrambi coscienti) si connettono con il pensiero inconscio e con quello preconscio per la definizione della propria identità.

Identity, Alterity, Narrative. A Psychodynamic Approach
Abstract: This article explores the development of personal identity - construed as a sense of self underpinned by a theory of self - in five steps: the “core self”; mirror self-recognition; the use of the pronoun “I”; alternating use of the pronouns “I” and “you” in dialogue; children’s capacity to connect their bodily and psychological sense of self to their self-image and to report this connection through the sentence “That’s me”. Moreover, the importance of interpersonal relationships in the construction of personal identity through mirroring, mentalization, and mutual identification is emphasized. Identity is conceived as a complex system with a “self pole”, involving the dynamics of introjection, and an “I-other pole”, involving the dynamics of projection. Finally, the author analyses how narrative and paradigmatic thinking (both conscious) join with unconscious and preconscious thinking in the definition of one’s own identity.
